Biodiversity
Yateley Town Council is committed to promoting biodiversity within the area, as part of its ongoing efforts to address climate change. To support its commitment, it has adopted a Biodiversity Policy and commissioned a Preliminary Ecological Assessment and Biodiversity Action Plan which was received in September 2025. This plan will help focus the council’s work to improve biodiversity on its land. Over the coming months and years, the council will allocate appropriate resources and collaborate with local partners to deliver as many of the actions outlined as it can. In recent years many verges in the parish have been planted up as wildflower meadows and, in March 2022, a community orchard was planted at Monteagle Open Space. In 2024 the community helped plant a number of trees on Yateley Green and Frogmore Green and the council will continue to look for opportunities for more tree planting.
