Community Orchard

In 2021 the decision was taken to add a community orchard to the parish. A suitable site was identified at Monteagle Open Space and on Saturday 26th March 2022 Yateley Town Council held a Community Planting Day to plant the new orchard. The weather was perfect and a large amount of local people and volunteers came along to dig, plant and mulch the 36 fruit trees! In December 2024, some of the trees were replaced with new trees.

Planters have written their names on the trees they planted so we hope you can continue to watch them grow and thrive. Now the trees are planted we will be putting a plan together on what to do with the fruit in the future when they get to that stage. There is a mixture of trees in the area with apple, pear, cherry, plum and quince planted.

A special thanks to The Yateley Society for jointly working on this orchard along with the town council and bringing it to ‘fruition’.
