Climate Response
The Council declared a Climate Emergency at the Full Council meeting on 6th December 2021. At the Full Council meeting on 26th September 2022, the Council committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by the financial year ending 2030.
To reach this goal, the Council has developed an action plan that outlines the targets and activities necessary to achieve net zero carbon emissions. This plan will be regularly updated and reported to the Environment Committee. The Council is also working to enhance biodiversity in the area as part of its broader climate response.
