Tennis Activators Needed

We are hoping to launch Free Park Tennis in April or May and we need activators to run the sessions.

What is Free Park Tennis?

A little bit like Parkrun! Park Tennis is a free session usually held at 10:00 on a Saturday or Sunday, and you don’t need a partner, or even a tennis racket, to get involved. Both adults and children can come to try out tennis, find someone to play with at other times of the week, improve their skills, and get outdoors! You can find more information about Park Tennis here on the LTA website.

What do activators do?

Activators are volunteers who work in a team to plan and lead the Free Park Tennis sessions. Usually, venues have at least 3 activators to ensure that no-one is having to volunteer every week and to cover holidays and illness. You do not need to be a coach or even have much experience playing tennis, just enthusiasm! You will need to complete a DBS check and do a little bit of online training with the LTA, who also provides us with equipment to be stored onsite and used during the sessions (so you won’t need to bring and take away any equipment or arrange handovers with the other activators). Participants book into the sessions so you will know how many people are coming and we are able to cancel and let everyone know if the weather is bad. If you are interested, you can find out more information and sign up here.

Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any questions. We are very excited to be providing free sessions for the community!
