Meetings

The Council conducts the majority of its business through Council meetings, which are held on an approximately 6 week cycle.

Most meetings take place on a Monday evening at The Oak Room, Council Offices, Reading Road. The majority of meetings are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend to ask questions about any item listed on the agenda. The Public Participation agenda item provides an opportunity for members of the public to bring matters to the attention of the Council relating to items on the agenda. Annual Town Meeting of Electors

Yateley’s Annual Town Meeting of Electors usually takes place in March each year in various community halls.

Community & Environment

Dealing with all matters relating to Council run buildings and open spaces, as well as the wider physical environment, leisure and climate change.

Up until the 2026-2027 civic year, these meetings were known as Environment Committee Meetings. From 2026, they are Community & Environment Committee Meetings.

Meetings are on Mondays at 18:30 and are open to the public. Residents are welcome to attend to ask questions about any item listed on the agenda. The Public Participation agenda item provides an opportunity for members of the public to bring matters to the attention of the Council relating to items on the agenda.

Emergency Action

These meetings are no longer held. However, the meeting minutes will be shown here for 7 years after the meeting was held.

Finance & Policy

All financial matters, including the Council’s budget, financial monitoring and policy review.

This committee meets Mondays at 19:00. Meetings are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend to ask questions about any item listed on the agenda. The Public Participation agenda item provides an opportunity for members of the public to bring matters to the attention of the Council relating to items on the agenda.

Full Town Council

All Council Members attend the Full Town Council meetings, where the Council’s overarching policy decisions are discussed and agreed.

These meetings are on Mondays at 19:00. Meetings are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend to ask questions about any item listed on the agenda. The Public Participation agenda item provides an opportunity for members of the public to bring matters to the attention of the Council relating to items on the agenda.

Personnel

Considers staffing matters, including staff pay. This meeting is usually held in closed session due to the confidential nature of the information being discussed.

Planning & Licensing

The review of all planning and licensing applications for the parish, as a statutory consultee.

These meetings take place fortnightly at 10:00 on a Monday. Meetings are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend to ask questions about any item listed on the agenda. The Public Participation agenda item provides an opportunity for members of the public to bring matters to the attention of the Council relating to items on the agenda.
